Valpo Sports & Recreation Campus

South-propertyThe newest and most exciting addition was high on the community’s wish list. Overwhelming wants included new multipurpose sports fields, an indoor facility, walking trails, playgrounds, shelters, concessions, and nature areas. It’s a wish we want to fulfill – for this generation and beyond.

The City of Valparaiso has recently purchased 248 ACRES of land, literally putting the sports facility of our dreams on the map. It will be located on the city’s east side, just east of 49, stretching from Vale Park Road on the south, all the way to 500 North.

This new facility will offer our community so much opportunity. Not only does the land offer Parks more than enough room to build an extraordinary youth and amateur sports facility, but we will be able to showcase and preserve natural beauty and green space with rolling hills, beautiful woods and a wandering creek.

Complex Drone1Referencing CLS’s study, the Valparaiso Parks Master Plan and continuing to reach out to the public for feedback, the team will be working on a master plan for the entire 248 acres. Key features being considered are outdoor sports fields for baseball, softball, soccer and other ball sports, an accessible and inclusive playground, nature trails and open green space, in addition to, an indoor facility for a variety of uses. We are thinking BIG. Reaching HIGH. And designing BOLD. With your help, Valparaiso’s newest park will be a must-see.
