Class Descriptions:

FEBRUARY 22, 2023: Metabolic Syndrome
Hear about the group of risk factors that can raise the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and other health problems. Learn about what Metabolic Syndrome is and how to prevent it. A screening will be provided.

MARCH 15, 2023: Oh, My Achy Bones 
As we age, bone density can become a concern. Join us for a free bone density screening and a presentation on exercises, foods and vitamins that can help manage chronic arthritis and possibly improve or prevent osteoporosis.

APRIL 19, 2023: Eating to Support Health
Learn how the Mediterranean style of eating can help prevent cardiovascular disease and support overall health. This class will promote how to eat healthy for all ages. Recipes will be provided.

April 23, 2023: Active Kids Day
Find us under the Urschel Pavilion for fun family activities.  

MAY 6, 2023: Walk and Talk for Your Health 
Join in on a group walk at Creekside Trails, 2551 Clifford Road, with a medical professional focused on the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of getting out and moving in nature!

SEPTEMBER 6, 2023: Your Heart Health – And the Beat Goes On!
Focus on your heart health in this class.  An overview of common heart issues, detection, eating, exercising and using technology to maintain or regain your heart health will be addressed. Mini EKG for atrial fibrillation and blood pressure screening will be available.

OCTOBER 21, 2023: Halloween Howl Fest
Find us at the Fest for an interactive activity the whole family can enjoy. 

NOVEMBER 18, 2023:  Grocery Shopping for those who are Diabetic, Pre-Diabetic, or Wanting to Prevent Diabetes Eating healthy is easier when you know how to get through the grocery store efficiently. Learn from a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist about making wise food choices, reading labels, and being carbohydrate conscious while shopping.
