Learn how to mix different plant colors and textures to create a unique combination that will give you vibrant color all summer long for your front porch or patio using Filler, Spiller, Thriller method.  Includes a 10" pot, plants, soil and expert advice from the experts at Chesterton Feed and Garden Center.

Terrarium Workshop


Create your own one-of-a-kind, living terrarium after a demonstration by the experts at Chesterton Feed and Garden Center.  Learn about the ancient history of terrariums and miniature gardening, design tips, and how to properly build and care for your terrarium.  Includes container, soil, sand, gravel, and plants.

Houseplant and Replanting Workshop


Topics covered will be :  potting and re-potting (when is the best time, what type of soils, fertilizer), propagation (stem cuttings, soft and hardwood cuttings, root divisions, leaf cuttings, and air layering), pruning (air circulation, bushier growth i.e. pinching), pests (are you bringing any hitchhikers when you bring your plants inside as fall approaches) and more.  Bring your questions!  Experts from the Chesterton Feed & Garden Center will help.  After the program, supplies will be provided to re-pot one houseplant.  12" and smaller pots will be provided along with the soil.
